Staying Positive when the House of Cards Have Fallen.

Getting yourself to see that silver lining no matter the situation can be very difficult to do. It can happen but it does take a lot of practice. Over time it does become a habit that you do without even thinking . But how do you do that?

The following steps are what I have developed for myself. These are not the end all be all. Each person’s experiences effect how one deals with situations. That said, this is what I have found works for me. When people around me wonder why I have the ability to move forward quickly , these are the steps I take and have developed them into a habit.

These are my basic 5 steps.

  1. Let it out- Cry, Get Angry, Scream, do something to release the emotions you are feeling.
  2. Take deep breaths. Do this as long as you need until you centre yourself.
  3. Take note of what is the worst that could happen (you will find that it isn’t that bad)
  4. Think of 2 positive things that might come from the situations such as a learning point.
  5. What is next ? Think of what is needed to do next and then do it now (don’t wait.)

This might take a while to get to. Sometimes finding the positive can be difficult at the beginning but eventually it will become so easy that you move to the next step very quickly. Don’t be hard on yourself if it takes time to get through. It took me years to perfect it for myself.
